What exactly, are the kinds of stress that we are talking about? There are the physical stresses like lack of sleep or working nine hours digging ditches. There are the chemical or nutritional stresses that are becoming more common every day in America. Just have a soda and pizza and watch the people for a while. Then there are the emotional or mental stresses. I bet you’re talking about emotional stress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, let’s talk about emotional stress, but understand that all three kinds of stress can create the same effects of stress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are certain patterns that take place during times of stress, no matter what kind you want to talk about. Here’s a list of stress effects: circulatory changes, skin rashes, adrenal gland fatigue, lymphatic system slow down, intestinal track irritation…almost every symptom of the body will show the effects of stress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So instead of looking at all the symptoms, which won’t do you any good anyway, let’s get to the cause and the correction of the cause of stress. Because no matter what the cause and effects of stress are, there are some powerful ways to reduce them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Emotional Stress&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some people never "get over" a loved one's death, marital breakup, or other severe stress. Never. These people live their lives in the constant presence of the past emotional stress. Even extensive counseling doesn't help some people. Counseling at such times can be most important for a person, but counseling does not reset the emotional stress overload circuit breakers if they have been short circuited.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How many stressful life events can you think about which cause your "stomach to tie into a knot" or a queasy feeling to occur or tears to fill your eyes? The presence of these symptoms when thinking about an emotionally stressing event are a surefire indication that the emotional stress overload points need to be "reset" by you or someone close to you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Have you ever seen a distressed person or a person completely frustrated, clap their hand to their forehead? Maybe you’ve done it yourself… recently. Why over the forehead?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is no accident that placing the hand over the forehead is an instinctive reaction. Your body knows what it’s doing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It has been discovered that on the skin of the forehead are located neurological "circuit breakers" which are associated with mental and emotional stress overload. The instinctive reaction of the person’s nerve system is to draw attention to these circuit breakers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Think about the last time you went through a stressful situation. How about a school assignment that you had forgotten? What about that person you have to talk to but don’t want to? What about that event that’s coming up that you have to attend—and it’s the last thing you want to do? Think of “that one thing” that causes you stress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In each of these situations, if you think about the one that causes you intensity, you may very well slap your hand to your forehead. You might even add a shake of your head.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The point is this thought is causing you stress and the job of your subconscious mind is to minimize the effects of stress by attempting to reset your emotional circuit breakers. So let’s do this for real. It will take 5 minutes and may very well change your life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Find something moderately stressful. Think about it for ten seconds or to the point that this thought causes you a “gut feeling” of stress. You know what I mean? If it’s not there, add some sensations like movement, sound, color, or brightness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, place your finger pads on your emotional circuit breakers; they are the two bony points on your forehead. Make sure you are thinking about that stressful episode at the same time you are touching your forehead. Hold these points with a slight stretching or tugging on the skin and you’re going to reset these circuits. The contacts should be held until a slight pulsation (like taking your pulse on your wrist or your neck) is felt in both fingers simultaneously. This usually takes from 30 seconds to two minutes. Once the pulsation is felt, the contacts may be held for a few more seconds and then released.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is a simple but powerful way for you to reset your emotional circuit breakers in relation to a specific episode of stress. It will dramatically reduce the intensity of the event. If not, do it again. Do it until the intensity goes down to zero.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How do you feel? I can let you know also that we are not the only ones with memory problems. I can also share with you that there is help for people like us and I've learned a couple of tricks along the way that have helped me. I really think they will help you, also.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since you have probably been looking for help for some time I would guess that you have had a few people insult you already by telling you that your brain is like a muscle. Well, seriously, we know that was not really an insult but when I was growing up if someone said that all I had between my ears was muscle I knew that was an insult .&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We both know that what is implied is that we have to exercise our memory in a similar way to exercising our muscle if we want either of them to grow. It's just that sometimes my memory problems were so bad I did wonder if there was only a very dense muscle between my ears.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really was blessed in that I've never really had that problem which is frequently mentioned on the Internet about misplacing keys and wallets. Maybe it's a male thing, one of the blessings of being a male maybe, but when I wear pants they always have pockets and that's where my keys and wallet go. If I have pants on then my keys and wallet are with me. It's that simple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did however have a lot of problems with remembering instructions, for instance. In business, for instance, my business partner would ask me to do A, B., and then C. It seemed like sometimes by the time she got to C I had forgotten half of the detail related to A and B. talk about frustrating! It used to drive me crazy and probably drove her a bit bonkers as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The source of my short term memory problems is unknown. My guess is that the excessive negative stress in my life had a lot to do with it. I knew that I could not remove all of the negative stress in the short term but I knew that I had to do something about my memory problems and so, quite simply, I did.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One easy and neat trick that I like worked pretty well for me. Since I am not a doctor I am not going to go so far out on the limb as to say that it will help anyone and everyone but I hope that it will help you .&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For this trick I would simply take a photograph from our family picture album and use it to help exercise my memory. Okay, I'm old enough that I still have pictures on Kodak paper, pictures that were processed at my local drugstore. Well, if you're a bit younger or more with technology than I am you probably have your pictures in an electronic format. Rather than use the image off of your monitor I would suggest that you print out a photograph from your collection. If you can do this in color then so much the better. It will give you more to memorize if you are dealing with a variety of colors. All you are going to do is simply take a photograph that means something to you and study it for a while.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would suggest at first that you take several minutes to study the photograph in detail before you then set it aside and write down all of the details that you can recall that show in that photograph. A what? Well, it is sort of like a high powered waterpik that uses magnetized water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why? For starters, I'm tired of my dentist complaining about my gingivitis which has now become mild to moderate periodontal disease. Will a HydroFloss change that? I honestly don't know, yet. Based on what I've read about them, it may be possible. I'm a skeptic by nature though, but I'm also curious enough to try out different things. Sometimes that strategy works for me and sometimes it doesn't.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've had a lot of problems with dentists over the years. I don't believe that all dentists are completely honest. In fact, I had a dentist tell me that I had a 'trouble spot' that she wanted to drill into. I went to another dentist who didn't appear to detect any problem or any 'trouble spot' at all. That was after waiting six months. If there was a problem that was going to get worse, it certainly didn't do so.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another time, a dentist cheerfully suggested a root canal for a pain I was having in a tooth. I declined. In less than two weeks, that pain went away and never came back, without a root canal being done. That was about 14 years ago. I've heard stories from people who went to a dentist to be told that they had several cavities. Upon visiting a different dentist they were told they had none!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I find this trend disturbing. I go to a dentist to maintain my teeth and gums and to make sure that I keep the teeth with minimal damage to the gums. So when unnecessary procedures are recommended, I find it a little annoying. I should be able to trust my dentist but instead, I view her much like I view a car dealership when taking my car in for service. Watch the wallet or get taken. I shouldn't have to feel that way about my dentist. But I do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the best sales presentations I have ever seen was that of a dental hygienist. She wanted to sell me a 'root scaling and planing'. During this procedure they anesthetize your gums and use metal instruments to scrape and scale along the root to remove plaque under the gumline.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I bet it hurts a lot when the anesthesia wears off. I was told this was the 'only' way to get rid of plaque under the gums. Since I declined the procedure, they wanted me to sign a waiver in case I lost my teeth as a result of not undergoing their prescribed treatment. I viewed this as another scare tactic. It also motivated me to find another solution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Like I said before, I have only had my HydroFloss for a week, but I like the results I'm seeing so far. When finished using it, I feel like my gums have just had a good massage and it only takes a few minutes to go over my entire gumline.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I asked my dentist what she thought about the HydroFloss. She wasn't convinced that it was any better than a waterpik. I decided to try it. If my dentist doesn't like it, it might actually be good for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not interested in losing my teeth due to gum disease. I have always kept good care of my teeth. It seems that brushing and flossing are just not enough for most people to avoid periodontal disease or gingivitis. Brushing too hard can erode the gumline, precisely what I wish to avoid. I reason that if I followed the same old advice, I would get the same results.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As for the HydroFloss, I believe I'm seeing a difference already, but I can't be sure. There are no double blind studies being conducted on my body. My results are subjective. But I think I'll know for sure in about a month. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to &lt;a href="http://www.ezinearticles.com/"&gt;Ezine Articles&lt;/a&gt;. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. Write more pillar articles.&lt;/strong&gt; Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I’ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won’t stay or bother to come back.
